I saw this on the front page of the Rutherford County Schools web and thought it good enough to pass on. Of course, if you have children they are probably perfect (right?) so you may want to share with your neighbor. The class has only been held once, so it’s probably not too late to sign up!
Rutherford County Schools will host a 10-week series for parents of strong-willed or out-of-control adolescent children beginning Feb. 7 at 6 p.m. Rutherford County Schools’ Parent Project is a partnership with Linebaugh Library and the Sheriff’s Department School Resource Officers division. All sessions will be held at the Murfreesboro Linebaugh Public Library.
School social workers Angela Allison, Lou Paschall and Eileen Woodside will facilitate the series.
The series is free and materials will be provided to interested parents. The facilitators aim to provide concrete answers for parent questions, and share strategies with parents for ending arguments with their children, improve school attendance and performance, prevent or intervene in alcohol and drug use, and help parents find resources for additional help
.
For more information, parents should contact Eileen Woodside at Rutherford County Schools, (615) 893-5815 ext. 22130.
