Because we’re not aware of any Mayor’s Beautification Awards given by the city of LaVergne and because Beautification Committees and mayors in other cities do them, we’ve decided to take it upon ourselves…
Starting on April 16th, select writers of this site will present the first ever:
THIS IS LaVERGNE
BEAUTIFICATION AWARD
If you would like us to consider your home and yard (or someone else’s) for this award, the rules are simple:
Shoot us an email with your LaVergne address to: lavergneblog (at) gmail (dot) com
Comment below if you don’t mind people seeing your address. Do not put someone else’s address here if it’s not your own. It will be removed.
If no one nominates their own home or anyone else’s, then we will randomly and without ado drive around until we find one that we like. Winning homes will be featured here, with permission from the owner.
Criteria:
- Lawn mowed
- Clean yard
- Nice landscaping
- Wows Kathy T. and Bad Bad Ivy*
*Why are we qualified? Kathy T. has been a local Realtor for five years and is nationally recognized as a writer for Shak & Jill. She is also the real estate and neighborhood editor for Music City Bloggers. Bad Bad Ivy is the Community Manager of the Shakadoo sites, and featured writer of ShakYard, Shakhammer, Shak in Style. She is also a co-owner of Home Ec 101.

Let’s also do the trashiest neighbor award….mine would win for sure….lmao
I like the idea of a bautification award, I really do. But I think if I was going to be honored in such a way, I would want it come come from the city, or maybe a local neighborhood group.
