  1. Oh ye of little faith. I told you it was so back in December. This will be great for that side of town.

  2. Angie has been right all along. BEAM!

  3. I so can’t wait to say bye-bye to Food Lion! Maybe they’ll actually have things like curry paste, and thai jasmine rice and oh, oh, dare I hope for… sushi, gasp!

  4. Right there with ya, Fortune Cookies. Can’t wait to say adios to Food Lion and their largely shoddy service and selection. (Personally I can’t wait for a salad bar, if we get one.)

  5. Was over at the old bilo building yesterday and they started painting the building white.

Also see that the unofficial truck stop parking behind Regions Bank now has a retail sign up and the pawnshop is going out of business. Any rumors about what might be coming in there and is there the possibility that La Vergne might be losing the weekly rentals and the trailer park…. I know that is on the top of everyone wish list.

I also want to comment on what I call the New La Vergne. If you look at the left side of La Vergne traveling into La Vergne from Nashville down Murfreesboro Rd. You really have to be quick or you might miss it. You have three very nicely done retail building done (KFC, Regions Bank and the New liquor Store) plus we can add in the Walgreen Store on the right and down the road you have the library and our fast food strip. This is a start and I look forward to any new building coming to La Vergne. I know some owners will not want to do anything with their building but a face lift is what is needed on most building in La Vergne or maybe just fresh coat of paint.

  6. I noticed the white paint yesterday. And the big hole in the wall…guess it for the extra door.

As far as the pawn shop, The Trading Post, the owner’s father has been ill and he is retiring to take care of him. So if anyone is looking for some bargains, everything must go. I did see some digital video cameras for less than $750 and lots of jewelry…

  7. Hoorah!!!

Now I just need a coffee shop to open across the street from the Library, and a weekly farmer’s market where I can get locally grown seasonal fruits & veggies.

Oh, and a set of grocery baskets on my bicycle.

  8. The Southern Family Market…… Signs are gone!!!!!…. The inside has marking of Kroger all over it… Looks bigger too!
