Open Thread Weekend: What Are You Thinking About?
Me first… I apologize to Green LaVergne for having promised to come help today and not showing up. My massive migraine kept me curled up in a fetal position until about 30 minutes ago and I’m still feeling the waves of nausea from it. Unless something unexpected happens for the next cleanup, I’ll be there.
It just bugs me when people call asking begging for information and I stop everything to try to help. As I start to answer their question, they interrupt mid-sentence because they just arrived at a yard sale and need to hang up. Don’t be calling me back, girlfriend, because your ringtone will be ignored.
What are you thinking about, people of The Green?

I’m thinking about the economy and the fact that I’m just getting to point of affording to do more. Damn it!!!!!
I sure do hate a migraine! I hope yours is better. Green La Vergne met up with Gina, her hubby, me and my wife. Our numbers may have been small for a first time meet up, but we worked it and extracted a few garbage bags full of trash from the Hurricane Creak Boat Ramp area. Now, anyone wanting to get out there and enjoy the lake, you can do so virtually litter free! Gina and her hubster even removed a tire! Thanks for the support and hard work guys! We look forward to meeting you again and getting this clean up effort to really take hold.
thinking about a birthday party we are about to have for a friend…and the fact I could go for a nap…but there is chicken-ka-bobs on the horizon…and the voices in my head telling me I gotta get off my fat ass and get the chinet out…and the plastic cups…and the plastic utensils…then the Green Voice telling me I should not use disposable items and argh make them stop!!!…the nap beckons me so…d’oh!!!!
I’m sorry I couldn’t make it to the initial meeting of Green Lavergne, but I am excited that so many are eager to participate, and I can guarantee I will be there next Saturday. I’m also thinking about how children need to get out and play on such a beautiful day instead of sitting inside with brain-rotting TV drivel. Come on, guys, play some ball or ride a bike!
I know you asked this a few days ago, but …I’m thinking about my neighbors grass, and how it hasn’t been cut in like 3 months, and how bad it looks, and how I can just imagine what’s living in that mess. How can you stand to walk out on your front porch and see grass all the way up to the top step without doing anything about it? I’m ready to pay someone to cut it for them, but then, they’d expect it every time, I suppose, and besides, they have a lawn mower. Jeez, people, have a little respect for your lawn! Ok, I’m done.
Perhaps you should stob up a sign in the middle of their urban jungle which reads, “Help me, I can’t find my way out!”
forune cookies,
Why not call codes dept and have them come out and look at this yard. There is a law of how tall someones yard can get! this shouldnt happen call the city hall and ask for codes dept and let them know whats up!
forune=fortune cookies…sorry my buttons on this laptop seem to stick….lol
thanks! i was wondering who it is that “gets” people who neglect their lawns. codes shall be getting a call for sure. I hate to be that way, but honestly, enough is enough. and it’s ok, bearroller, i’ve been called worse
lol
eskaton- i’m too afraid to go in their yard, I couldn’t find my way out and something in there may bite me!
I’ve been thinking that I love the rain, even though it makes my lawn grow too fast. My trees are SO much happier than last year!
And I finished my driveway garden wall, so I can get the rest of the plants in this Spring. Yay!!
