Bowling for Brandon

Brandon Brewer is a brave young man.  He is a 15-year old from LaVergne who suffers from Hirschsprung’s disease, a genetic disorder that prevents his body from absorbing nutrients.  Our little town has held yardsales for his benefit, along with other fundraisers.  But we feel it’s time for our online community to come together and help out this young man and his family.   We are sponsoring Bowling for Brandon on Friday, September 28th from 12:00 midnight to 6:00 a.m. at the Smyrna Bowling Center, 95 Weakley Lane (355-0501).  The $20 tickets cover unlimited bowling for 6 hours.  Shoes and food are extra (but very reasonable)!  Half the proceeds will be donated to Brandon.  If you buy a ticket and don’t bowl, then 100% will be donated.

The Daily News Journal ran an article in today’s paper,

“The fundraiser couldn’t come at a better time. Brande said on Tuesday, she picked up a prescription that cost $140 for 15 days. Insurance doesn’t cover his LifeFlight ambulance service, which now totals $25,000.”

This family is from our community, a town whose citizens have big hearts.  Please please please join us that evening.  You must purchase your ticket in advance from the Smyrna Bowling Center.  Or from me (at my office – Bob Parks Realty on Sam Ridley Pkwy.)  You can contact me if you’d like a ticket by commenting below (put in your email address which doesn’t show up online and I’ll email you back) or by calling 491-2161.  In addition, you can contact Alderwoman Senna Mosely at 793-2469.  She will have tickets available tonight at the Board & Alderman’s meeting.

Thank you and we hope to see you there showing your support for this wonderful family.  It will be an evening filled with fun and laughter, so you don’t want to miss it!   Please come!

  1. MS kathy tickets are at your office now ……I know that our great little town will show alot of support plus I also know that Smyrna will come through.

I want to make a challenge to all league bowlers and all city employees get everyone they work with to buy at least one ticket!!!

Also I am taking items for donation to do a silent auction like we did at ” Christmas for the Children”

go to my blog and leave a message if you want to donate something.

  2. Our local bowling alley is great about these fundraisers. Whenever there is a neighborhood death, they always hold a tournament in honor of the deceased where all funds go to the widow or widower. They’re starting to do one a month for a charity, and I think it’s great.
