Feed the Hungry

The city has contacted me asking for help.  The La Vergne Police Athletic League (ages 7-17) will be sorting and filling food baskets for seniors and the needy this Saturday morning at 9:00 a.m. at the Police Department, 5093 Murfreesboro Road, directly behind La Vergne City Hall.

The food baskets will be delivered by PAL members and police officers later that day. The baskets will contain a meat (turkey or a hen), canned goods, sugar, coffee, flour and more.

The PAL program is still in need of canned goods and other non-perishable items. Anyone wishing to donate non-perishable food items or money to the cause, can stop by the police department anytime to drop off the items.

All donations are tax-deductible, according to PAL Executive Director Gerry Howse.
