You Were Just Asking…

Mealand Ragland Hudgins just told me the long-awaited Parthenon Blvd. is to open on Friday!  Well, she actually nudged me to look at the DNJ online and there it was.

After nearly five years of planning and construction, the extension of Parthenon Parkway will open to drivers shortly after Friday’s 11 a.m. ribbon cutting ceremony.  Work on the Parthenon extension had been at a standstill for more than four years after it was discovered the road’s path led into wetlands housing the then-nearly extinct purple coneflower. The flower only grows where Davidson, Wilson and Rutherford counties meet.

This is GREAT NEWS!
