Josh Testifies Before State Legislature

Josh Osborne testified today before the State Legislature about making child abuse sentencing more stringent.  He was rescued three years ago after having been chained to a bed and starved… he weighed about 48 pounds when he was liberated from his father and stepmother.

Here is a link to the story about his testimony from News Channel 5.  And here’s a link to the video.

  1. This story is sad on so many levels. He has a lifetime of heart, liver, kidney ,not to mention the emotional stress and who knows what other problems to endure. The abusers, including his very own mother? They got a whopping 7 year sentence! There’s people in prision serving more time than that for marijuanna! Where’s our priorities? Sad. Today’s children are tomorrow’s future. It is paramount that we give them the best chance possible from the starting line to ensure a good finish. I’d like to see laws put in place for the apathetic neighbors or family members who may have known that Josh, or kids like him, was suffering in that house, but did nothing to notify authorities. In my opinion, they are almost as guilty as the abuser. Thanks for sharing his story and reminding your readers what a worthy cause Josh fights for!

  2. It was his step-mother. His real mother has actually come back into his life recently (don’t know where she was before). Josh needs a kidney transplant NOW. He is on dialysis everynight for at least 9 hours.
