- Fourth of July celebration this summer.
- 3-day Old Timer’s Day Festival.
- Night-time Christmas Parade!
I just moseyed over to the Rutherford County Election Commission to see if anyone else has picked up a petition to run for positions of mayor and alderman/woman. Looks like the field is growing!!
Here’s what I say to the candidates (especially if you win the election) … next year let’s have a parade or some fireworks in LaVergne to celebrate Independence Day! :0)
It’s no secret that Independence Day is one of my favorite movies. Aliens, Will Smith, a great speech by a president … what more can you ask for?
Perhaps it’s fate that today is the Fourth of July, and you will once again be fighting for our freedom… Not from tyranny, oppression, or persecution… but from annihilation. We are fighting for our right to live. To exist. And should we win the day, the Fourth of July will no longer be known as an American holiday, but as the day the world declared in one voice: “We will not go quietly into the night!” We will not vanish without a fight! We’re going to live on! We’re going to survive! Today we celebrate our Independence Day!
In honor of today and my favorite movie, I give you this gem from YouTube … What if America had been founded by the characters in the movie Independence Day?
Have a safe, happy, fun Fourth of July!
I just cruised YouTube to see if there were any interesting, fun, or exciting videos about LaVergne. There are not. There are only videos of Realtors talking about their fabulous listings. So let’s have some fun this weekend! Get out your video camera and record a movie about LaVergne! Fireworks! Picnics! Loud car stereos! Show us your vids!
Load it on YouTube, send me a link, and we’ll feature your video as we get them.
Come on… you can do it.
VIDEO ONE: What can be more All-Ameircan than eating corn on the cob? Feeding your Shih-Tzu corn on the cob, of course.
Thank you Tammy! For the real fun, watch Crawford in “Is That a Nipple, Dad?”
Meanwhile, here’s a link to our Wikipedia entry.
